Spine Injuries Treatment

Spinal injuries commonly involve herniated discs, fractures, or damage to the spinal cord itself. These injuries can result from trauma, degeneration, or medical conditions. Symptoms may include numbness, pain, or even paralysis, depending on the severity of the injury. Diagnosis typically involves medical evaluations and imaging studies.
Treatment options range from rest, physical therapy to surgical procedures aimed at decompression and stabilization of the fractutred segments.
Rehabilitation is a crucial part of recovery, focusing on restoring function and managing the long-term effects to improve quality of life.

Types of Spine Injuries

Sprains and Strains Injuries to soft tissue that affect muscles, ligaments, or tendons that surround the spinal. They can result in pain or restricted mobility, but they don’t cause spinal cord injury.

Herniated Disc A condition in which the cushion (disc) between vertebrae expands or breaks, pressing nerves, causing pain, weakening, or numbness of the legs or arms.

Compression Fractures Vertebrae fractures are usually caused by trauma or osteoporosis. These can result in pain and reduction in height.

Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) The spinal cord is damaged itself, which results in loss of function and feeling at the area of injury. SCIs can be total (total functional loss) and also incomplete (partial loss).
